Affymetrix Arrays

As part of our service fee, all incoming DNA samples are initially checked for quantity/concentration/purity levels (NanoDrop ND-1000 spectrophotometer) prior to initiation of any processing steps. If any of the provided samples fail to meet desired input criteria, work will be stopped and the user notified. As we do not check on the intactness of the provided DNA samples, we presume that the user providing the samples has previously confirmed the lack of DNA degradation by checking each of the samples on a 0.8% - 1% agarose gel (high quality genomic DNA will run as a major band at approximately 10-20 kb on the gel; Note – assay performance may vary with DNA that is substantially more degraded).

10K 2.0, 50K and 250K Mapping/SNP Arrays

We follow prescribed Affymetrix protocols (as listed in the appropriate GeneChip Mapping 10K 2.0 Assay Manual, GeneChip Mapping 100K Assay Manual or GeneChip Mapping 500K Assay Manual in processing all provided DNA samples destined for analysis on either Affymetrix’s 10K 2.0, 100K or 500K Mapping Assay Systems, respectively.
