Just as maintaining and preserving the integrity of the messenger RNA in Expression profiling studies is critical to a successful and meaningful analytical outcome, so too is it important to start your Mapping/SNP Assay Studies with genomic DNA that is of high quality and free of contaminants. Starting with genomic DNA of lesser characteristics than outlined below might hinder the downstream enzymatic/PCR reactions carried out in processing the samples prior to addition to the specific Mapping/SNP array type of choice.
